Forget Resolutions

Happy New Year.

Breathing deeply into this new day, I feel confident, focused, ready to reap the fruit of last year, committed to planting new seeds in fertile soil.

I’m not setting resolutions (and I don’t recommend you do either).

Resolutions come from a place of lack.

The word itself assumes there’s a problem to solve in a new way (re-solution).

There is no problem to solve.

Everything is happening perfectly in the journey of your soul.

Life is a dance between breathing into the truth of life's perfection and taking intentional action.

Between the opposite polarities of masculine and feminine energies.

Between giving & receiving.

Between relaxing into floating downstream and setting your sights on a destination and swimming towards it, (even when you have to swim against the currents).

Instead of resolutions, I am meditating on what I will create this year, and I recommend you do the same.

Connecting to myself at the end of 2023.

I am breathing into the outcome and allowing myself to feel it in my body.

I feel curious about what this future version of me is feeling, is breathing, is being?

-Regulated in my nervous system
-Resilient to stress
-Consistent with exercise
-Focused on service
-Connected to my breath

Then I ask myself, what’s the next thing I can do to align myself in the present to this version I am becoming?

Here are a few answers that came through:

-Begin each day with meditation
-Commit to physical movement everyday
-Ice baths 3x week
-Following a plan for my business
-Daily slow breathing practice
-Time for music and play

Some of these I'm already doing. Some are things I am growing into.

Here's how you can do this practice yourself.

Give yourself 5 minutes

Drop into your breath

Connect to yourself

And ask: what’s the next thing to do?

The answer will come to you in an instant.

Notice how it feels.

And then act on it.

With Blessings,
Jonathan

Jonathan Schecter

Jonathan's interest in the transformative power of the breath is driven by his own healing journey. After practicing meditation and mindfulness in the Zen and Tibetan Buddhist traditions for almost 20 years, he rediscovered breathwork during a dark night of the soul and was amazed at the impact the practice had on his life.

After exploring several types of breathwork and working to create his own system, he found Neurodynamic Breathwork and completed an extensive facilitator-training program that was equal parts breathwork, deep personal development, and training in how to hold space for expanded states of awareness and support others through authentic presence.

This training, combined with lessons learned integrating his own extensive experiences with plant medicine helped Jonathan launch his brand “Blue Magic Alchemy ” that provides 1:1 integration and transformation coaching, a podcast, breathwork and meditation circles, and information to support grounded exploration into altered states of consciousness.
